International Award Winner Kia Motors is on the Heels of Their Competition
Last Updated: 11 March 2020
Kia has won five international automotive awards
so far this year and they look like they're going to be gunning for more. With a past of financial struggles behind them, it's good to see South Korea's second largest vehicle manufacturer take the lime light for a number of fantastic cars they've produced. If you're looking for Kia insurance

Kia has made some fresh changes to the latest Picanto, giving it a sportier look with its slanted headlights, new grille design, infotainment solutions and a host of new technologies. The GT Line version offers a 1.2 litre engine with that cranks out a meeger 61.8kW. This is no sports car, but it's power to weight ratio is enough to make it feel a little perky.
Kia has high hopes for their Picanto and the lastest generation is certainly a threat to the likes of the Volkswagen Up and Toyota Etios.
Much of what Kia did to the Picanto has been done to the Rio. It's received the same Tiger Nose grille, similar sporty headlights and the same new infotainment system. Kia has become focused on improving build quality, as well as the driving experience and the latest Rio is evidence of that.
The 1.6 litre engine outputs an impressive 96kW with 161nm of torque. That's more power than we'd normally expect from an engine such as this and you'll have the option of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox to navigate those revs.
Kia has had to make some hard decisions when it comes to producing a mide sized SUV for the South African market in which Toyota has been the dominant seller. And because of this, Kia has loaded the Sportage to the brim with astute specifications. So much so that you have TWELVE variants to choose from. That's more variety than the majority of vehicles when you consider they generally have 3-5 variants to choose from.
The Sportage has an german-like interior with heated (and cooled) seats, panoramic sunroof and automated emergency braking among other features. The amount of safety features Kia have added to the Sportage make it a top pick in its segment.
The 2018 Sorento is the first of Kia's SUVs to receive their new eight-speed automatic transmission. As for other changes, they have mostly been cosmetic. The 2018 facelift is currently only available in Europe and there's been no decision yet to bring it to South Africa yet, but knowing Kia's success over the last few years, it's very likely they will.
If you're looking for a spacious crossover, the Sorento is the king of legroom. As for cargo space, put the two back seats down and you have a whopping 1.63 meters square of hauling space. You'll be hard pressed to find a crossover with as much space as the Sorento.
