The Jetour T1 does not have much of a track record in SA yet. But you did the research, the price made sense, and now you need the cover to match.

Jetour's 7-year/200,000 km warranty is among the best in the SA market. An extended warranty plan covers engine, gearbox, and electrical failures beyond what the manufacturer warranty conditions cover.
The Jetour T1 only arrived in SA in late 2025. That means most people haven't heard of it yet, most insurers have limited local claims data for it, and the pricing you get quoted will vary more between insurers than it would on an established model. That's not a reason to panic — it's a reason to compare carefully.
The T1 sits below the T2 in the Jetour range — slightly smaller, slightly lower priced, and priced from R514,900. At that price point it competes with the Haval Jolion and Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, both of which have been in SA longer and will typically attract more consistent insurer pricing.
The T2 is larger, heavier, available in AWD, and priced higher — which makes it more expensive to insure. If you bought the T1 specifically because the price was more manageable, the insurance premium will reflect that. Expect the T1 to come in R150–R200 cheaper per month than an equivalent T2 Aspire.
The T1 PHEV is significantly more expensive to insure than the petrol variants. An 18.4 kWh battery, specialist charging systems, and limited SA technician training for PHEV repairs all add to insurer cost exposure. If you bought the PHEV, compare quotes specifically for it — do not assume the petrol price guide above applies directly.
