Last Updated: 09 October 2018Volkswagen
has been one of South Africa's favourite motor brand for years. Being the German brand that it is, it's gained a reputation of building sturdy, long lasting cars that ooze style. It's hard not to find the VW range appealing. There's something about their appearance and drive that pulls you in. If you're looking for Volkswagen insurance

The Polo Vivo has been a top seller for VW over the years. With an average of 2800 sold every month it's easy to see why the Polo is so popular. This is evident in the 6 generations of Polos produced since its inception. The latest generation has really solidified it's position as a fan favourite with a fresh look that still captures the essence of the Polo.
Volkswagen have been in the SUV game for a while. The Tiguan was first introduced in 2007 and has been a five-seater SUV up until now. The lastest generation of the Tiguan has bigger bodywork and includes two additional seats that make it the perfect passenger vehicle for onroad and offroad use.
What's impressive about the Tiguan is how popular its become in its relatively short life. It has out-sold all other models VW has on offer which is phenomenal considering that popular models like the Golf and Polo have been around for quite some time.
The Volkswagen Beetle is an iconic car developed as a "car for the people". It stood the test of time for almost 70 years with very little change to its appearance until 1998 when Volkswagen introduced the "New Beetle". It stayed in production until a new, more agressively styled version was released in 2011.
This newly designed Beetle aims to attract a larger male demographic into what has been a predominantly female customer base. It's still riding on the tails of the original's throwback styling and has been the main reason for purchasing one.
The VW Up is part of a new group of cars Volkswagen is calling the New Small Family (NSF) models. It won World Car of the Year in 2012 and has become so popular that VW produced a GTI version as well as an electric version. The Up is proof that Volkswagen remain capable of thinking outside of the box and producing something with visual intrigue.
The interior has been designed with ergonomic finesse and premium finishes that put rivals to shame. It's impressively spacious for a car its size, although tall adults are going to feel cramped in the back.
First produced in 1974, the Volkswagen Golf has seen its lifespan carry on through seven generations of production. The golf has won multiple awards over the year and continues to make its way into Car and Driver's annual 10 Best list.
The latest generation adds a 1.0 TSI engine to the range of Golfs, outputting 62kW of power which is disappointing when you consider the Opel Adam Jam has the same size engine and outputs 85kW or power. The rest of what the Golf has to offer makes up for the lack of power over its competitors though.
